Berserk Boy Developer Teases Exciting New Projects for 2024 After Strategy RPG Spin-Off Announcement

Indie platformer developer has been making waves in the gaming community, having created one of the best Mega Man-inspired games in recent years and announcing an upcoming strategy RPG spin-off. But it turns out there's even more exciting news on the horizon as they tease four additional retro-styled projects currently in the works.

Berserk Boy stands out as the top retro platformer of the year, skillfully blending the high-speed action of Sonic, the boss-mimicking abilities of Mega Man, and a hint of Metroidvania exploration. The game launched to massively positive reviews, which is no surprise given its quality, but the developer's journey is far from over.

Not only did they release the best Mega Man-inspired game in years, but Berserk Boy Games recently unveiled Berserk B.I.T.S, a spin-off that reimagines the underappreciated strategy RPG Mega Man Battle Network with a 6x3 combat grid. However, Berserk B.I.T.S takes a different approach as an idle auto-battler where players’ characters fight computer viruses on a 4x3 grid.

The game’s description encourages players to let their B.I.T do battle and gather items while they focus on other tasks. Players can collect and craft an assortment of battle chips to use in real-time combat, placing each chip in a growing library to complete. One of the trailer’s standout features is the ability for players to personalize their B.I.T.S' home, complete with worker robots, adding an element of charm to the game.

But that's merely the beginning - there's even more excitement bubbling under the surface. The developer's social media recently hinted at four additional "SECRET" Berserk-related projects set for 2024. The details are shrouded in mystery, leaving fans to speculate what could be coming next. Potentially, these could include Xbox and PlayStation ports of the main game, expansions, or more spin-offs. Regardless, it's heartening to see a game like Berserk Boy receive so much attention and care.
